Plast Information Plast, the Ukrainian scouting organization, was established in Ukraine in 1911. Currently there are Plast chapters in Argentina, Australia, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Poland, Slovakia, Ukraine, and the United States. Plast, Inc. was incorporated in the State of Michigan in 1950 as a 501(c)(3) organization. The goals of Plast include educating its youth members to be good scouts, honest and hard-working individuals. They possess initiative, self-discipline, resourcefulness, leadership skills and above all, a love of the outdoors. There are 3 main duties of every Plastun (Scout):
Plast is divided into four age groups: Plast Camps Plast Camps are the central part of the organization. Camps take place in the outdoors among nature because nature allures its own beauty and strength. Camps are run throughout the summer months plus a few specialized ones held in the winter. Regular camps are held for three weeks in July at various oseli (campgrounds) across the United States. Scouts learn self-education plus development of physical, intellectual and spiritual character. Specialized camps include hiking, mountain biking, water sports, skiing and winter mountaineering.
